Modica (RG) – Monday, March 31th, took place the ceremony of the winners of the contest Re-Thinking Kitchen sponsored by Gerratana srl, a successful company in the design and custom furniture for commercial activities and restaurants.

The event, dedicated to the memory of the company founder Giuseppe Gerratana, was organized under the auspices of the Order of Architects of Ragusa and Siracusa, and a jury proclaimed arcHITects the winner between sixty projects submitted by architects, designers and decorators from all over Europe.

Re-Thinking Kitchen: ​​the project “Up and Down – K2” presented by arcHITects, has been praised for its ability to hold an initial cubic configuration, which turns opening up into the space, both vertically  then “Up and Down”, either horizontally, creating a dynamic and flexible space according to different occasions. Extraordinary popular the innovation in the use of materials and systems for filtering and ventilation as well as the real possibility of being realized.

The second prize went to “Cubina” by Roberto Tusa Studio Due Quadro from Alcamo and third place went to the “Face kitchen” by Gianluca Perini from Siena.

The project remains on show at the Gerratana srl’s showroom in Modica and will soon become a prototype and then a commercial product, with the hope that it will be successful !
